Testimonial

"Having done some research on sustainable fishing methods, visiting the Opotiki Community Reef site was incredibly interesting. It is an excellent example of what can be done to ensure that fish populations thrive in the future."

Opotiki Cottage

- a piece of yester year

Accommodation
REAF offers its own Kiwi holiday home (bach) accommodation (Opotiki Cottage) which is available for short stays. It can sleep up to 6, is safe for children, has a large concreted area for car and boat parking, and is located close to the Opotiki Wharf, Boat Ramp and the Opotiki Community Reef. Other boat launching areas are 20 minutes drive away.

The free Opotiki Water on the river, wharf fishing and boat ramp areas are all great places to casually chat with locals and develop an appreciation of the culture of Opotiki.

A purpose built fish filleting bench is provided at the bach, along with a portable fish smoker and large fridge/freezer.

Bookings for our Opotiki Cottage are for a minimum of 2 nights at $100 a night. It is usual to do a quick tidy up at the end of your stay. Linen used can be washed and left hung on the clothes line.

Opotiki bach verandah offers covered outdoor living space all day long.
A fully equipped small house for comfortable stays.

Our up to date booking calendar is shown below.

Booking our Opotiki Cottage also gives you the opportunity to fish the Opotiki Community Reef and find out more before you might think of investing in a reef of your own.
We also often offer special deals including a free fishing trip with every fully paid weeks booking.
Otherwise the cottage is available for you to just holiday in or use as a base to explore the East Cape area.

Bookings can be made directly with REAF by emailing or phoning us directly. Lloyd 07 3155831 or 027 350 4910.

Alternatively if you are an AA member (thats Automobile Association!) you might find it more convenient to use our booking form at www.bookabach.co.nz/5085
