Our Marine Life Lodge accommodation is also geared to out of towners with their own boat who would like to try some legendary Opotiki fishing.
We offer you a boat safety check over and bar familiarisation and crossing tips in your own boat. (Important if you are from the Lakes or Auckland area) (Lloyd is a local Coast Guard skipper)
Some of Opotiki's best fishing areas are available to you to download here. The Community Reef areas and open ocean mussel trial lines are well worth investigating.
We have off street parking for your car and boat.
We are a stones throw from the Opotiki Wharf and excellent 2 lane concrete boat ramp.
Fish descaling table and fish filleting table available.
Fish freezer on hand ready to store bait and ice overnight.
Fish smoker on hand.
Most importantly, staying in our Marine Life Lodge
allows you to hear and see the sea and bar. If conditions are really not safe, then we don't like to see you miss out on any fishing opportunity. We can advise if surfcasting in a sheltered spot, off the rocks or even in the river could be a go. Whats more we will then loan you our surfcasters or light rods for the day FREE of charge.
Accommodation rates $150 per room (for 2 people) Marae style accommodaton also available for extras at $60 per person.
