Testimonial

"Having done some research on sustainable fishing methods, visiting the Opotiki Community Reef site was incredibly interesting. It is an excellent example of what can be done to ensure that fish populations thrive in the future."

The Marine Life Workshop program

The Marine Life Workshop will appeal to anyone with an interest in fishing, marine life and/or the environment in general.

Our Reef Builders Workshop is designed to take you to a stage where you could easily build a reef in you backyard, deploy it from a recreational fishing boat, and become one person helping to grow more fish in the sea.

The one day workshop starts with the foundation Tiaki Moana tour. A more in depth power point presentation follows to firm the foundations of what has been undertaken World wide with artificial reef building and how our 'seabed enhancement model' a.k.a. reef building, differentiates itself. The second part of the day involves hands on practical reef module building and work with reef deployment options.

A lot can be achieved in one day, but 2 days is better as it allows you the opportunity to undo the modules cast the previous day and set them aside for curing.

The standard one day 9am to 3pm workshop costs $245 per person, and includes all materials used. The reef module made will be pesonalised by you, a Certificate of Deployment issued with GPS location and later deployed with other modules.

In summary you will
