Marine Life Lodge has 2 heritage bedrooms and accommodation for up to 5 in the front bedrooms of the spacious heritage home built in 1920 to overlook the Opotiki Wharf.
The Lodge is right there by the wharf, boat ramp, river swimming, Motu cycle Trail, minutes from the CBD and more. Its also a very quiet area of town with just the sounds of breaking surf in the distance.

Free: Evening video screenings of powerful documentaries about our rivers, seas, environment and marine life. Plus brochure of local heritage for discovery walkabout the township of Opotiki. Value $20.
2 nights - $300
Free: The above plus our unique Tiaki Moana Tour. Hear about how we can all grow more fish in the sea. 1 hour. Beach combing for reef materials and marine treasures.
Value: $15 pp or $30 for 2.
3 nights - $450
Free: The above plus 2 mountain bike day hires so you can take in the 10 km Motu Trails dunes track. We have some of our own suggestions of variations to the track to add interest.
Value: $35 per bike or $70.
4 nights - $600
Free: All the above plus a guided tour of one of Opotiki's highlights. Visit Taketakerau the 2000 year old burial tree or walk over the scenic Onekawa Pa site or even dig shellfish (pipi) for your dinner. Value $80.
5 Nights $750
Free: All the above plus two free half day hires of our river/sea kayaks to explore the Opotiki rivers or beaches. Value $50 each = $100
6 nights - $900
Free: All the above plus a free fishing trip. Guided land based trips are accounted at $40 an hour. Around 3 hours fishing and an hours preparation. Valued at $160.
7 Nights - $1050 Involvement in a local community and environment project, such as progressing the community reef, restoring whitebait habitat or sand dune restoration. Valued for decades to come but our value is set at $185pp.
The maths on this works out that with $1050 worth of accommodation you will receive absolutely free over $600 worth of guided activities. Activity order may be varied depending on weather conditions.
Marine Life Lodge offers friendly and helpful local guidance but allows you the freedom to be self directing in what you actually do.
