Testimonial

"Having done some research on sustainable fishing methods, visiting the Opotiki Community Reef site was incredibly interesting. It is an excellent example of what can be done to ensure that fish populations thrive in the future."

Marine Life Lodge

Your stay with us will help marine life.

Marine Life Lodge is living history. The home was built to overlook the now historic Opotiki Wharf at a time when coastal shipping was in its glory days.

The two front bedrooms available still have views of the wharf and rivers. The crashing sea can be heard close by and vibrant sunsets taken in from on the sun downer deck.

Casual overnight bookings are welcomed. The lodge is a semi hosted situation where you are free to set your own agendas and cook your own meals or visit a local Hotel just minutes walk away. $150 a night for 2.

Bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared. The original heritage lounge has TV, DVD and wireless Internet. The kitchen/dining area is spacious and fully equipped. Gas hot water ensures everyone gets a hot shower.

Our package deals add in free extras specifically geared toward those wanting to discover Opotiki, challenge themselves with the Motu Trails cycleway, or learn basic fishing skills.

Your stay with Marine Life Lodge will help marine life. Our main focus community project is helping to build up the Opotiki Community Reef.
